"Why we want to help turtles in particular? The shell bearers are unfortunately very endangered. There are only seven species of sea turtles left, all of which are threatened with extinction!
The development of previously pristine beaches is taking away the turtles' natural egg-laying habitat. Another point is that especially on the Asian continent turtle meat and eggs are considered a delicacy. The shells are also traded. As if that were not enough, more than 250,000 turtles die incidentally in fishing nets every year.
The search for food in the sea is becoming a deadly undertaking due to the ever-increasing plastic pollution, because the sea creatures often mistake plastic for their favourite food, the jellyfish. They die miserably from swallowed plastic parts.
That's why we decided to do something for the turtles and launched our Turtle Campaign! Be a part of it now too."

What is the amount used for?
Which organization do we support?
In September and October we supported the "Kurma Asih Turtle Conservation" in Bali. With the donation amount of IDR 25,070,047 Kurma Asih has already received enough donations to maintain the station for the next 5 months.
From now on, however, we would like to take a broader approach and not just support one small location in Bali.
We have found an organization that we feel is very transparent and therefore a better fit for a donation. The organization is active worldwide and works sustainably for the protection of turtles on the Cape Verde island of Boavista and in Indonesia. It is the"Turtle Foundation". We support the Indonesian team of the Foundation, which is dedicated to the protection of green sea turtles on the Derawan Islands off East Borneo. On the homepage of the Foundation you can find all information about the organization. We will also provide you with regular news about the cooperation on our blog soon.
How much money was donated?
Kurma Asih:
25.070.047 IDR = 1.450,04 € (supply of the station in Bali for 5 months)
Turtle Foundation:
€12,000 for the conservation of turtles in East Borneo.
Team Bali:
ca. 35.000.000 IDR = ca. 2000 € (lease of a new plot of land for the recycling station, new plastic shredder)
Payment of donations:
The current donation amounts are paid to the partner organization at the end of each quarter.
